Brother and sister duo, Dean and Nicole, lead the fantastic team behind the Dean Gera brand.

The brand has 5 salons located at the Embassy Hotel Valletta, the Phoenicia Hotel, the Corinthia Hotel and Spa Attard, Msida, and Ibragg.

The Dean Gera Academy was launched through this family partnership and is used as the main training headquarters for the entire Dean Gera team.

Nicole spent a year in London working at Trevor Sorbie, then she and Greg joined the family business and took over their mother’s salon, Mode Hairdressing, in Ibragg

Whilst still at school, Nicole started working at the Corinthia with Dean and then went on to work at their mother's salon in Ibragg.

The company was incorporated and two additional salons had been opened.

The Dean Gera brand was launched through the Radisson Blu salon, initially operating as a sole trader with one assistant, with the focus being building a strong reputation and client base.

Wanting to further his training, Dean moved to London to work at Trevor Sorbie's prestigious Covent Garden Salon, often working with the backstage team alongside Angelo Seminara.

Dean took up hairdressing professionally and worked alongside his mother for 4 years.

Dean's mother, who used to work with her brother Pierre, had opened her own salon in 1989. Ten years later, whilst still at school, Dean began assisting his mother at the weekends.

Our offices are located on Valley Road, Msida. Our administration team are available by phone, email or social media to assist you with your appointments and take care of all your queries.

Abigail

Juggling more balls than is seemingly possible, Abigail is the head of our administrative team

Abigail handles the colossal tasks of payroll, the general accounts and the companies’ accounts, and there is a very strong probability that she dreams in numbers. She also handles the bulk of the HR tasks, including work permits and contracts for new recruits. A natural multitasker who is highly organised, Abigail is based at our Msida headquarters and is a pillar of support to the entire team. She is our eagle eye in the sky who has a great overall view of all five locations and every member of the team. When she isn’t at work she’s busy with her young family, supporting them in their many interests, or showing off one of her many talents which include cooking, baking or singing, as anyone who was at our last staff party will agree with after she grabbed the karaoke mic!

Charlene

With her big presence and big personality, once Charlene starts giggling she's hard to stop

Charlene joined the company when she was just a teenager, gravitating from hairdressing to administration and therefore giving her valuable insight in her role in our offices. Besides handling much of the day-to-day customer care needs when clients call us, she oversees salon maintenance, making sure that everything looks good and is running as it should be, and she also takes care of orders for the salon to ensure that the stylists have all the tools and products they need. Last but not least, a large part of her day involves managing Dean Gera Shop. She is assisted by her trusted assistant Rusty, her King Charles spaniel, who patiently sleeps on a chair beside her throughout the day.

Steph

Cool, calm and collected, nothing is ever too much trouble for Steph and she does it all with a smile on her face

Steph is one of two people you are likely to reach when calling our salons. Based at our Msida head offices, she handles much of the customer care tasks on a day to day basis. Steph also oversees the schedules of the six salons and takes care of general office duties and administration as well as accounting and clerical tasks. A mum of three and one of four sisters, Steph is a natural giver and a super multitasker, allowing her to be of great support to the entire team. Don’t let your guard down, however, as she loves a good practical joke when given the chance!

Delivery Person

Walter

No job too big, no delivery too small, Walter is our wonderfully patient delivery person

Probably the only person in the company who sees every member of our team every single day, Walter delivers all the salon’s products and supplies on the daily, and he’s known to regularly rescue us from our mini emergencies. In his spare time he is a photography enthusiast, snapping candid photos at events or getting some action shots at a good football game. The smiliest, warmest person and an absolute gentleman, he is loved by all the team.
